Meet Megan

My journey back to myself began in my teenage years. It was the struggles that I faced that guided me to my calling. I felt as if I had become a prisoner of my own body.  There was intense pain in my muscles and joints, everything felt tense and tight in my body as well as being chronically tired, no matter how much rest I was getting. My doctors diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia, along with depression and anxiety, and didn’t do much to help me other than prescribe high doses of opiates and anti-anxiety medications.  This began a vicious cycle of addiction, physical pain, and mental anguish that lasted over a decade. Many nights, I layed on the floor sobbing, begging to “go home”. I longed for a place I didn’t know, it felt like I didn’t belong on this earth, that I didn’t belong in my body. Every day was harder than the last, I felt myself separating from the person that I knew I was. My addiction led me to a place in my life where I had no other option than to crawl out of the hole that I found myself in.  I came to the understanding that my chronic pain and anxiety was rooted in trauma. I finally had a place to move forward from, and was graced with some amazing people that guided me through theraputic movement and bodywork, Reiki, mindfulness, and other practices that supported my healing. The support I felt in these spaces sparked the light at the end of a dark tunnel and I started my journey home.

Numbing my body and my energetic awareness had been a defense mechanism to protect me from the extreme sensations I had felt my whole life. By reintroducing body awareness and movement back into my life, the pain started decreasing and my energy started to increase.  Noticing when and where I was storing tension in the present moment, I began to use the tools I had to ease the tension or pain and bring my nervous system back to a state of regulation.  Soon, I began to feel a natural flow- both within my body and in the environment around me.  As my physical body opened up and I found safety within myself, my energetic and emotional body began to rise to my awareness. Renewing the relationship with my body opened up the door to accessing my emotions and trauma, as well as my intuition. My body was the path to reconnecting with my soul.  Integrating alternative healing practices, I found more support and was able to build on top of this physical connection. Slowly, I started to release deep wounds I had stored in my physical and energetic body. In these spaces, I found myself again. This was not an easy process for me, and it did not happen overnight, but it became my goal to discover who I was at the core of my being. Experiencing relief that I had never felt before, I was guided to assist others in finding that home that exists within themselves. That space that exists when we find alignment within body, mind, and spirit.
