Movement that Heals

Movement is part of our everyday life, and how we choose to move through the world is up to us.  By cultivating more mindfulness and awareness in our movements, we have the opportunity to access a deeper sense of stability and support within ourselves and the environment around us. Just as the roots of a tree extend into the earth to find support to grow outward, a solid foundation within our own being gives us an opportunity to grow and move through life from a centered and grounded place.

Movement that contains loving, present awareness can open up space to view ourselves and others through a lens of compassion. It can offer a sense of empowerment and a reclaiming of the body. It can restore a sense of connection with the self as well as others. Our society puts heavy emphasis on ideas and logic, on moving quickly, often without regard for the self or others. This can compound in the mind and body, leaving us feeling disconnected from ourselves and the world around us.

When an opportunity is created to explore the body with a sense of curiosity and non-judgment with offerings of release, we can heal physical, mental and emotional trauma. Finding strength and confidence in the self, the body, and its movements can greatly impact how fully we integrate into life. When we can trust our mind and our body to work in unison, there is a knowing that whatever life brings, we are deeply capable of navigating those challenges.
